For LivPurpleNow, here is my chai recipe, picked up by observing the friend who gave us the spices.
- Boil 0.5 tsp tea leaves and 0.25 tsp spices per cup of water (250ml).
- Add milk to the boiling mixture
- Strain and serve (sugar optional)
I don’t know exactly what is in the spices although I think cardamon is part of it. What I do know is that adding the milk changes the nature of the liquid. Turn it down and don’t turn your back on it at this point (says he, who ended up having to clean the oven hob)!
