I’ve now got the cooking of three meals at House244 under my belt. Tuesday’s dish was an Italian concoction of potato, tomato and wine, given a bit of protein with a chopped up chorizo sausage, making it more Mediterranean than strictly regional.
The dish was very tasty but I was half an hour late in getting it to the table. I think that I started thinking “I’ve got two hours to get it ready if I can get home by five”, which then mutated to “I’ve got two hours to get it ready”. I actually started work at about 6pm but only realised my mistake about ten to seven, when the diced potatoes still needed to be added, cooked and then simmered long enough to soften.
Fortunately everyone was very forbearing but I definitely need to work on this aspect of getting food ready on time.
