It sounds like the BBC will soon be charging for use of its iPlayer service. I’ve never had a TV licence and watch a fair amount on the iPlayer so I’ll have to keep my eyes open for the point when I need to either pay up or stop watching.
I’m not sure yet which way I’ll jump but it could well be in the direction of more time for reading books, making music and messing about in the garden. I’ve always been slightly puzzled why catch-up services weren’t covered by the TV licence. I wonder if the change will effect advertising supported services from ITV, etc? I’ve enjoyed being able to use the iPlayer but I’m not sure I’ve been hooked into rely on it.
