I think Jane and I need to do more work on using my kettle BBQ. We’d got fairly adept at using our firepit for the job but wanted something smaller. I think some refinements to our technique might be called for. The first time we used it, it took a long time to get up to a decent heat and today we ended up resorting to the firepit.
Mind you, it could be in part the equipment. Our little kettle is about cheapest you can get and, looking at a video showing a Weber model, I notice that has much better ventilation under the coals. More homework… and perhaps some modifications.
