Shakespeare’s Dead

I think it would be fair to say that the Shakespeare’s Dead exhibition currently showing at the Weston Library on Broad Street in Oxford isn’t the most uplifting thing you could see in the city. It muses on how Shakespeare presented and used death in his plays, illustrating its theme with lots of quotes and a wide collection of artifacts from the Bodleian Library collections; some early editions of the bard’s work but also plenty of other sources. Worth a pop if you are in town though; it is free and you might find something interesting although you probably need to look elsewhere if you want to combine thoughts of human mortality with a seasoning of hope.
