She has a decent camera (Nikon D50) and knows how to use it well. This image has wonderfully rich colours and is further enhanced by the crispness of the foreground branch and a very narrow depth of field. It is definitely worth viewing at a larger size on the Flickr site (click the image to go there) so you can appreciate it in detail.
I have managed to get a few pictures that have similar elements but this outstrips them by far! One of these days I hope to have a camera where I can create this kind of image on purpose rather than having to rely on happy accidents of getting the autosensors hooking onto exactly the right things at the right time!
