Our kitchen project is rolling forward. The ceiling and walls are now painted, everything has been taken out of the room (including the kitchen sink) and we are ready for the flooring guys to come in tomorrow. First they will lay a latex substrate and then, on Thursday morning, they will come and lay the flooring itself.
We have chosen a form of safety flooring, more commonly used in commercial settings but hope that it will give years of service (and cope with heavy appliances standing on it) in the less demanding setting of a domestic kitchen. We have chosen a limestone finish from the Tarkett Safetred Naturals range, which you can see in the sample on the right.
