Tonight sees another gig with The String Project. This one is a relatively short notice call to support another Oxford band, Joaquim and the Smoke Machine at the Jericho Tavern. I have to confess that I’d not heard of them before we got the invite to play last week but, having listened to recordings on their Soundcloud page, I can’t explain why not – they seem to have been around for a while, the tracks are excellent and right up my street. I’m really looking forward to hearing them live as well as to another chance to play myself.
If we use a similar set list to Saturday’s gig (Donnington Community Music Festival: well attended and lots of fun) we will be landing on one of our newest tracks, Playing with Fire. I guess that will be entirely appropriate as the number with which to hand on the baton to the Smoke Machine.
Doors open at 7pm, The String Project is due on at about 8:30pm and entry is £5.
