Yesterday lunchtime saw and heard the unveiling of my portmanteau arrangement of The Twelve Days of Christmas for jUKEbox, my work ukulele group. As mentioned previously, it stuffed this traditional and rather long song with a bunch of other Christmas songs.
I’m pleased to report that it worked well. No awkward gaps for faffing around between songs. Those who stopped to listen for a while were rewarded with a stream of treats and surprises. Keeping it to about 15 minutes was a good plan because it meant nothing had time to drag on too long. Therefore, although quite ambitious, I think we pulled this one off.
And now for a repeat performance at another event later this afternoon.
