Nasal irrigation doesn’t sound like a great deal of fun and, to be honest, it’s not. However, it has proved a useful technique for cleaning up a nose (my poor nose) that has been suffering with cold-like symptoms for several days.
What I’ve been doing is dissolving a small amount of salt with tap-warm water in a small container and then dipping my nose in and gently inhaling. It reminds me a bit of swimming in the sea – particularly the bit when you don’t get lifting your head out of the water and breathing in properly in sync.
It does the job through. Prepare for the nose to release the mucus that has been building up and congealing, so not the prettiest of practices, but it does seem to be helping.
