I’ve been suffering with a bit of a cold over the last few days but still wanted to perform at Loughborough Acoustic Club. I kicked off on bass, with Kev supporting me on guitar, and played a medley of a couple of Beatles tracks – Get Back and Come Together. Even on a good day, I struggle to sing them in a high octave so I kept it low and gravelly.
What was interesting was when I moved to my third song, the happy folk song known as Spencer the Rover. The deeper singing seemed to have done a good job on clearing my pipes and the tune came out pretty high and clear. Job done (although I can feel myself blocking up again now so time for bed).
