Another walk in the countryside, near Stanford on Soar, and another digital painting. Again, I started from a photo but deliberately paid little attention to it. Having a sketched a few lines, I then moved to painting with the photo hidden and only referred to for colours. Even there, the colours picked from the photo tended to look duller than I judged them by eye, so I often gave them quite a tweak.
As I was painting more directly from what I saw around me, I think this one definitely counts as en plein air. I am enjoying exploring the iPad as a tool for working with a wide variety of colours and textures without having to carry water, brushes, clothes, pastels and more. The Procreate app was definitely worth the price of entry.
