This morning I did another ‘up the Beacon and back without stopping walk’ but I did spot that the foxgloves have come out and pause just long enough to take some reference photos. I ended up being in a rush to get this done but at least I did it.
The palette is the same as yesterday with the addition of a magenta colour called ‘Rose’ but the proportions used are somewhat different – much more deep green, only a small amount of violet and barely any lemon yellow. The dark green is the deep green with the addition of some violet to neutralise and darken it.
I might have to revisit my plan to keep it to the one sketchbook. The pages aren’t as thick as I thought and, painting on the back of yesterday’s piece, I observed it got a little rewetted (although not enough to change it). Furthermore, that first double page has fallen out of the book (held into the ringbinder by punched paper). It will do for now – perhaps I can make it work if every other day I go for more of a drybrush effect?
