This slime mould, also known by the slightly more appetising name of ‘scrambled egg slime mound’ (slime mould is still not a winning ticket!) was among the life forms we spotted in Booth Wood yesterday. I identified this one with help from an app on my phone but there was also an amateur mycologist on the team who helped us identify honey fungus (photo on Flickr) as well as King Alfred’s Cakes and others that I didn’t photograph.
