I’ve worn down a few miles worth of shoe leather today, some of it worth it.
This morning’s outing was definitely worthwhile. I drove up to Derby and parked to the east of Racecourse Park before strolling down to town to meet my friend, James, at the Sacred Bean Coffee Shop. It was a bit of a walk (about three miles on the round trip, although I did dilly and dally through a bit of the city on the way back) but great to catch up and also see the Sacred Bean social enterprise first hand.
This afternoon, I took a wander down to the local Royal Mail delivery office (about a 2.5 mile round trip) to try and find out about the parcel they failed to deliver on Saturday. Unfortunately, they only managed to fill out half the “sorry we missed you” card and not incredibly accurately at that so I wasn’t able to rearrange the delivery online. I hope talking to someone at the office comes up trumps but it turns out that they close at 2pm on Mondays so that was wasted shoe leather.
So, good exercise, good coffee and good company but one task remains outstanding.
