Ongoing Reporting

Over the past month or so, I’ve been surprised at the number of people who haven’t been routinely reporting their COVID-19 lateral flow test results; many hadn’t even realised that you are meant to do so, even with negative or void results. I’ve kept on reporting although I continue to find the website a less than smooth experience.

One thing I did discover a while back that helped was that the option to scan in the QR code rather than typing up the tiny numbers actually worked quickly and reliably. Unfortunately, the latest couple of test kits we’ve had have been from a new batch. Overall, these are even easier to use and the numbers are much clearer to read. However, the QR code has been compressed and, certainly with the camera and lighting conditions I can muster, it no longer manages to read well.

Could someone please give the Government a gentle kick for me and remind them that, much as they’d like us to be focusing on anything but COVID-19 at the moment, we’re going to need to up our game on testing and tracing if we are actively going to drive down infections (and resultant deaths) rather than crossing our fingers and hoping that vaccinations will last and new variants won’t occur.
