I made a fairly early start on Saturday morning and, after a couple of hours, had made a decent amount of progress on clearing some of the weeds. That also gives me a starting point on the compost. I know it means my compost will have weed seeds in but it’s better than leaving more of them to set seed and spreading them around my plot and further afield and weeds are quite easy to remove from compost. There’s nothing too noxious in the mix so it won’t be a major problem.
Soon I need to get some “green manure” ordered so that I can carpet the bare ground with quick growing plants of my choice as I begin to carve out the areas to cultivate crops.
